Land Management Assistance Program

Our Land Management Assistance Program (LMAP) is a special program through which we offer free assistance to all property owners in Bandera, Gillespie, Kendall, and Kerr counties. Through this program we provide trained volunteers to visit your property and help you identify trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and grasses.

While we’re there, we can discuss your goals, plans, and concerns for your property. We can help you identify potential land use problems and discuss possible solutions and good land stewardship practices that might apply to your land. After our visit we'll send you a written report along with lists of government experts and other organizations which can provide additional information and assistance.

In 2009, we visited 52 properties with total acreage of 6,399 acres. Since the onset of the program in 2005, we have visited 212 properties with acreage totaling 17,399 acres.

For a free volunteer consultation, call Riverside Nature Center, 830 257 4837, and ask for the Master Naturalist Land Management Assistance Program.
